Here at Aesthetic Dental, we work hard to help our patients who snore and/or have sleep apnea. People who have sleep apnea never get the rest that they need and deserve. Patients with sleep apnea have trouble breathing which constantly wakes them up throughout the night. Many people who have sleep apnea have multiple health problems. They are always exhausted. Being tired can affect people at home and at work. They may be depressed, feel hopeless about their chronic tiredness and have trouble concentrating. Sleep apnea can also affect their blood pressure, making them more likely to have strokes. There is a big risk with anesthesia since they have trouble breathing.
Mandibular advancement oral devices can be helpful with sleep apnea. They help patients by keeping their airways open at night passively by positioning the lower jaw forward. These oral devices have been shown to be and are more comfortable and tolerable than CPAP.
