TMJ Disorder

What is TMJ Disorder?
The tempromandibular joint is the structure which connects the lower jaw to the skull. The joint allows for movement of the mouth and stabilizes the lower jaw. If at some point the joint is not functioning properly, the TMJ can be displaced, cause pain or make noises upon mouth movement. Patients need to have their occlusion and mouth movement evaluated by a dentist for possible causes for the problem.
